Berlin Quaker Office ca. 1930

Welcome to the Berlin Quaker Monthly Meeting! We meet every Sunday at 11 a.m. for silent worship at the Quäkerbüro, Planckstraße 20, 10117 Berlin (City East, near Friedrichstraße Station). Our meetings are unprogrammed. We are part of the liberal tradition of Quakers. Visitors and guests are welcome!

The Berlin Quaker Meeting was founded in 1920. Since 1925 the meeting room has been located in today’s Planckstraße 20 in the center of Berlin, near the Friedrichstraße train station. During the Nazi period, an International Quaker Office used these rooms to arrange for the emigration of people persecuted for political and racial reasons.

In the times when the wall divided Berlin, the Quäkerbüro in the Planckstraße was used by the East Berlin Meeting and the Quaker Yearly Meeting in the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Since 1991, it has been the meeting place of the reunited Berlin Quaker Meeting and the office of the German Quaker Yearly Meeting.
